Porto Katsiki
Porto Katsiki is one of Lefkada’s most famous beaches, known for its dramatic white cliffs and turquoise waters. The beach is accessible via a winding road and a set of stairs leading down to the shore. The contrast between the white sand and the deep blue Ionian Sea makes it a breathtaking sight. It can get quite crowded in peak season, especially with boat tours stopping by. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available, but the natural beauty remains largely untouched. The sunset views from the cliffs above are spectacular. The waves can sometimes be strong, making it ideal for experienced swimmers. Parking is available uphill, often with a small fee. The road leading there is narrow and winding, so careful driving is needed.
Kathisma
Kathisma is a long, wide beach with soft sand and vibrant blue waters, making it one of the most popular in Lefkada. It’s well-organized with beach bars, sunbeds, and umbrellas, creating a lively atmosphere. The waves can be big at times, attracting surfers and adventure seekers. Paragliding is a popular activity here, with flights taking off from the nearby cliffs. Despite its popularity, there is still room to find a quieter spot, especially toward the edges of the beach. It’s easily accessible by car, with parking available nearby. The beach bars and restaurants provide plenty of options for food and drinks. The sunset here is breathtaking, making it a great evening destination. The water gets deep quickly, so non-swimmers should be cautious.
Mikros Gialos
Mikros Gialos is a small, sheltered bay with calm, crystal-clear waters and a pebbly shore. It’s located near the village of Poros and is perfect for families and those seeking a relaxed atmosphere. The water is usually very calm, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. A few tavernas and cafés line the shore, offering fresh seafood and refreshments. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available, but there’s also plenty of space for those who prefer to lay a towel on the pebbles. The surrounding hills add to the secluded feel of the beach. It’s easily accessible by car, with parking available nearby. The beach can get busy in high season but remains peaceful compared to the larger tourist beaches. The water is exceptionally clear, making it a favorite for snorkeling enthusiasts.
Egremni
Egremni is a stunning, long stretch of white sand framed by towering cliffs and dazzling turquoise waters. It was once accessible only by a long staircase, but after the 2015 earthquake, new access routes were developed, including boat tours. The beach remains relatively untouched, offering a more natural and serene experience. Its size allows visitors to find a quiet spot even in peak season. The water is deep and often wavy, making it great for strong swimmers. The cliffs provide some natural shade in the morning but disappear as the sun moves higher. Reaching the beach requires some effort, making it less crowded than other famous Lefkada beaches. The breathtaking scenery makes it a favorite among photographers. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, often compared to Porto Katsiki.
Mylos
Mylos is a secluded and unspoiled beach near Agios Nikitas, accessible by boat or a short hike. It features soft sand, clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for those looking to escape the crowds. There are no beach bars, sunbeds, or facilities, so visitors should bring their own supplies. The hike to the beach offers beautiful views but requires proper footwear. The water is crystal clear, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Due to its isolation, it remains relatively quiet even during peak season. The surrounding cliffs and lush greenery add to its untouched beauty. Boats from Agios Nikitas provide an easier way to reach the beach. Mylos is a hidden gem for those who appreciate natural beauty and tranquility.
Amoussa
Amoussa is a small, quiet beach with calm, clear waters and a pebbly shore, perfect for relaxation. It’s well-protected from winds, making it an excellent spot for swimming and snorkeling. The water is exceptionally clear, allowing for great underwater visibility. A single beach bar and taverna provide refreshments and sunbeds. The surrounding landscape is lush and green, adding to the secluded feel. The beach is easy to access by car, with parking available nearby.
